Allen Lawrence Ullmer, 82, of Milford, passed away on July 7, 2016 at Via Christi Hospital, Manhattan, KS. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 10, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Funeral home, 203 N. Washington Street, Junction City. Graveside services will be held be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 11, 2016 at Highland Cemetery, Wakefield, KS with Reverend Todd Britt officiating..
He was born on January 31, 1934, Totowa, New Jersey to Alfred and Gladys (Babcock) Ullmer. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1951-1955, participating in the Korean War, ending up at Fort Riley, KS. Allen worked as an electrician and was part owner of A&D Electric he then had Al's Electric for over 50 years.
Allen enjoyed his family, camping, fishing, his work, playing bridge and having morning coffee at Flag Stop in Milford. He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren and he never met a stranger.
On December 14, 1954 he married Anna Marie Luthi. Allen and Anna Marie have six sons; Ken, Ron, Jim (Joyce), Chuck, Gary and Scott (Kelly); ten grandchildren, Janell (Nate), Crystal, Maleah (Jason), Rheanna, Chessa, Adam (Kelley), Kelly (Katy), Shelby, Kayela and Michael, Oliva and Juan Diego; five great-grandchildren, Marissa, EJ, Logan, Malekai and Aleya. Allen is also survived by one brother, Doug Ullmer and one sister, Ethel Wood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters and his Daughter-in-Law, Maiya (Wisby) Ullmer.
