Funeral services for Allen E. Rawles, 44, Junction City will be 10a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2007, at the Second Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Leonard Gray officiating. A visitation will be held tonight, 6 - 8 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel, 805 Caroline Ave. Mr. Rawles passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2007, at the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center in Topeka, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Rawles was born October 3, 1963, in Washington D.C., the son of Allen Earnest Clay and Bronnetta Rawles.
Allen served in the United States Army from 1981 until 1999. He was a Persian Gulf War Veteran. He had worked at the Main PX at Fort Riley as a stockman for many years, he was currently working for Foot Locker in Junction City as a machine operator. He was a member of the Acacia Lodge #91; Fayum Shrine Temple # 209; Mt. Sinai #3 R.A.M and the Holy Cross #7 Knights Templer. He was a member of the Second Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son, Joseph Rawles of Winthrop, MA; one sister, Bernadette Rawles Peyton-Bey and husband Marshall of Washington D.C; one niece, Ilona Peyton-Bey of Washington, D.C.; one aunt, Marie Rawles, Washington D.C.; five great aunts, Cherry Terry, Martha Temple, Mary Rawles, Esther Rawles and Mahaley Rawles; two great uncles, Peter Bruce and John Bruce and dear friend John County of Junction City.
