Funeral services for Aljean Clark, 49, Junction City will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 13, 2009 at the Pentecostal Church, 417 N. Adams with Rev. William Ocean officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Jean Clark departed this life on Friday, March 6, 2009.Visitation will be from 6-8pm Thursday March 12, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Aljean Bell was born on January 30, 1960 in Chicago, IL to the union of Theodore and Edie (Hollis) Humphreys. She accepted Christ into her life. Jean Bell met William H. Clark, Jr. in Germany in 1989, while working for AAFES. They were united in holy matrimony in Chicago, IL. November 22, 1994. "Jeanie(Jean)" as she was affectionately called by family and friends, was former Executive Director of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children) for Geary County. She had a passion for the safety, health and wellbeing of children and a special love for them. She also had a passion for teaching, counseling, and mentoring. She loved to travel and explore the world, and riding her motorcycle as a hobby. She was currently a full-time student at Washburn University, and would have received a Master of social degree this coming May.
She was preceded in death by her father Theodore Humphreys.
She is survived by her loving husband William, and children; John H. Brown, Jr. (Cleo), Andre' Clark, Dustin Clark, Chelsea Clark, Latavia Clark and James Clark. Three sisters, Sharon Anderson of Junction City, KS, Zenobia Whitlow of Atlanta, GA., Brenda Jones of Chicago, IL., and one brother Robert Bell of California, also her mother Edie Crawford and step-father, Terry Crawford of Atlanta, GA, and grandchildren: Mose Brown, Malik Brown, Christopher Nichols and nieces & nephews and a host of relatives and friends including her special, dear and close (Adoptive sisters) Vicki Guice of Junction City, KS, and Kimberlyn Collins of FT. Lee, VA.
For many years, until her untimely death, she was faithfully devoted to the Pentecostal Church at 5th and Adams, serving as the leader of the "Living Faith" Cell group, Prayer Band and Usher Board member, church board Consultant, and singing with the Woman of Faith Choir.
