Alice Wright

Memorial services for Alice "Ilene" Wright, 77, Wakefield, will be held at 11:00AM, Thursday, January 3, 2008 at the Wakefield United Methodist Church with Pastor Diana Stewart officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00PM – 8:00PM, Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at the Wakefield United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wakefield Public Library, Wakefield, KS. Mrs. Wright passed away Sunday, January 30, 2007 at Manhattan Homestead Assisted Living Center, Manhattan, KS.

Mrs. Wright was born July 26, 1930 in Montrose, Colorado, the daughter of Lloyd Vance and Geneva Geraldine (Gill) Akey. She graduated from Montrose County High School, Colorado, in 1948. She then attended and graduated from Parks Business College in 1949. She married Robert D. Wright and they moved to Junction City in 1960 and again in 1971 as Robert was stationed at Fort Riley. They later divorced. Mrs. Wright worked as a Legal Secretary for Johnson Benston, Waters from 1971 to 1974. She was then secretary for the Installation Commander-Headquarters, Fort Riley, from 1974 to 1995. She was secretary to the City Manager of Junction City until her retirement in 2002. She enjoyed needlework, bowling, and was a member of the Wakefield United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her parents.

Morgan Wright (Patricia) of Asburn, VA
Laurie Ann Judd (Pat) of Farmington, MN

10 Grandchildren: Morgan and Joel Mason; Jason Sanford; Dustin, Marshall, Brandon and Amber Wright; Annie, Michael and Emily Judd

1 Brother: Lyle Vance Akey (Ann) of Mountain View, CO

1 Sister: Gerry Daily (Jack) of Athens, GA
