A visitation for Alice May Rutt, 87, of Junction City will be held Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 31, 2010 at Highland Cemetery with Reverend Dr. Kenton Van officiating. Mrs. Rutt passed away on Dec. 26, 2010 at Alterra Sterling House. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Alterra Sterling House, 1022 N. Caroline Avenue, Junction City, KS 66441.
She was born in Chapman, Kansas on July 17, 1923 to William and Lula (Allen) Murrison. She was a member of the Eagles and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She loved playing bingo, playing cards for hours and dancing the night away and loved going to the casino but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She was a homemaker and she worked at the JC Cafe and then at Whitaker Cable until her retirement.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband Robert Rutt, her parents William and Lula Murrison, daughter, Sharon Lee, brothers, William Murrison and Albert Murrison and a sister, Doris Deevers.
She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Devine of Junction City, Shirley Pacsuta of Merriam, KS, Ann Cooper of Fort Dodge, IA, Lois Jean of Council Bluffs, IA, son, Pat Mills of Iowa Falls, IA, her sister, Florence Ryff of Abilene, KS and many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family members.
Pallbearers will be Matt Devine, Joey Devine, Ruben Roman, Alex Roman, Dave Achten and Dan Reyes.
