Alice (Hanson) Bammes

Funeral services for Alice E. (Hanson) Bammes, 91, of Junction City will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, December 31, 2009 at the First Southern Baptist Church with Pastor Nate Butler officiating. No visitation is planned. Private burial will be at Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Bammes passed away at Chapman Valley Manor on December 27, 2009. Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Alice was born August 24, 1918, Wamego, KS to John and Luetta (Holly) Cox. She was a LPN and for over 30 years she owned and operated Hanson Skilled Nursing Home and also owned and operated the Beauty Nook both in Junction City. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church. She was married to Roy L. Hanson he preceded her in death, she later married Alfred Bammes and he also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Rick Hanson and son-in-law, Robert O. Pendergrass both of Junction City, her sister Loretta Zarger of Manhattan, KS, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Virginia A. Pendergrass and Jeanne E. Taylor, five sisters and two brothers.
