Services for Alberta C. Garland, 85, of White City, will be Friday, April 2, 2004 at 10 a.m. at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Timothy Schellenbach will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday, April 1, 2004, 6 to 8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel. Burial will be at Skiddy Cemetery. Mrs. Garland passed away March 30, 2004 at Geary Community Hospital. Memorial Contributions may be given to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 5805 Clark's Creek Road, Junction City, KS 66441 and/or White City Library, P.O. Box 206, White City, KS 66872.
Mrs. Garland was born December 7, 1918, Geary County, KS to John L. and Lena (Erichsen) Moyer, She spent 30 years in Colorado and the rest of her life was spent in Geary and Morris County. She worked at a grocery store in Granby, CO and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
She married Alvan Garland November 30, 1939 in at the St. Paul's Lutheran Parsonage, Geary County, KS, he preceded her in death January 1, 1989.
She is survived by one son; Larry A. Garland, White City, KS, one sister; Opal Carlyon of Junction City, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother; Leonard Moyer, four sisters; Angeline Adams, Dorothy Shandy, Hazel Heller and Margaret Rosey.
Pallbearers will be Melvin Howard, John Moyer, John Carlyon, Bernard Rosey,
John S. Carlyon and Gary Shandy.
Organist will be Mildred Hackler
