Albert Meyer, Jr.

Funeral services for Albert E. Meyer, Jr., 72, of Junction City will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street with Pastor Ronnie Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Milford Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2011 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Mr. Meyer passed away on March 14, 2011 at Mercy Regional Center. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association, 5375 W. 7th, Topeka, KS 66606.

Albert was born January 1, 1939 in Upland, Kansas to Albert & Grace (Horner) Meyer, Sr. Albert graduated from Junction City High School in 1957. He later married Verna Belin on January 23, 1960 in Junction City. Mr. Meyer joined the National Guard in 1961 and retired in 1986.

Mr. Meyer was a member of the American Legion and the First Christian Church in Junction City.

He is survived by his wife, Verna Meyer of the home, one son, Timothy P. Meyer, one daughter Brenda K. Stutz (Michael) both of Junction City. A brother, Gary Meyer (Vicki) of Topeka. A sister-in-Law, Joy Reynoldson-Meyer. Three grandchildren, Aaron, Ricky and Kaylee Stutz.

Albert is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Leonard Meyer.
