Funeral services for Alan B. "Al" Havice, 59, of Junction City will be Friday, December 10, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel, 805 Caroline Ave, with Reverend Dr. Joe Belardo officiating. Burial will follow at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, December 9, 2010 from 6-8 pm at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel. Mr. Havice passed away on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Geary Community Hospital.
Al was born February 16, 1951 in Karlsruhe, Germany to Blaine & Lieselotte (Wirth) Havice. He later married Lynn Shadolan. Alan served in the United States Army from 1975 to 1992. During his time in the Military he received the Army Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Metal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Kuwait Liberation Medal and the Bronze Star Medal.
He is survived by his wife Lynn of the home, a son Jeremie Havice of Salerno, Afghanistan, two daughters, Jennifer Ward and her husband Jason of North Pole, Alaska and Jacqueline Havice of Manhattan, Kansas and her friend Bret Webb. His father Blaine Havice of Carlisle, PA. One grandson Malikai (Kai) Nathaniel of North Pole, Alaska. Five sisters, Nicole Fields and her husband Willie of Copperas Cove, TX, Heide Sholter of Hope Mills, NC, Anita Barnes of Lillenton, NC, Helena Wheeler of Vacaville, CA, Daniella Mumford and her husband Daryl of Gladewater, TX. Al loved to play his guitar, listen to his rock and roll music. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
