Adarina "Grace" Conner, 65, of Junction City, passed away on April 3, 2014 at The Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, NE. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 10, 2014, from 6:00 pm. to 8:00 pm. at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel, 805 Caroline Ave. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014, 10:00 a.m. at the Ward Chapel A.M.E. with Pastor Viola Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery, Manhattan, KS.
She was born on September 21, 1948, Fort Riley, Kansas to John R. and Ione (Reed) Smith, Sr.
Grace was the Housekeeper Administrator for Army lodging for many years at Fort Riley, KS and she was a member of Ward Chapel A M E. Grace loved Gospel music and enjoyed reading but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She married Jerome Conner October 1, 1966, Junction City, KS. On January 25, 1967 Jerome was killed while serving his country in Vietnam.
Grace is survived by her sons, Jeuan Conner and Jerome Smith both of Junction City, KS; her brothers, Foster Smith (Val) of AZ and Theron Bell of CO; and her sister Marietta Kitt of NY, she is also survived by two grandsons, La-Von Conner and Ja-Sean Alston and one granddaughter, Jazlynn Alston.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
