1SG (RET) William "Bill" Floyd Combs, 82, of Milford, KS, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022 at the Kansas Medical Center in Andover, KS. Cremation will take place. No memorial service is planned at this time. Inurnment service with full military honors will take place at a later date at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery.

Bill was born March 10, 1940, Commerce, OK the son of Herman and Ruby E. (Pruitt) Combs.

Bill served in the United States Army. He retired from the Army January 31, 1982, after serving twenty three years. During his military career, he served two tours in Vietnam. He was also on the team that designed the Hummer for the United States Army. After his retirement, he traveled with his wife all over the country. One of their favorite traveling destinations was visiting the United States National Parks. Bill loved his church congregation. He enjoyed reading, spending time with his family, reading in his office and studying the Bible.

On May 5, 1976, he married Siegrid Pitton in Bad Hersfeld, Germany.

Survivors include his wife Siegrid of the home in Milford, KS; two daughters, Heike Combs of Frisco, TX and Yvonne Coleman of Jacksonville, FL; one granddaughter, Chelsea Staud of Cincinnati, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and four sisters.
