Brenda M. Rush Weeks, 56, of Milford, Kansas, died Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Geary Community Hospital. Brenda was born August 4, 1962 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Wayne "Bus" and Rose (Lussier) Rush. Brenda grew up in Iowa attending Westwood High School in Sloan, Iowa.
Brenda moved to Junction City, Kansas in 1981 and worked as a dispatch operator for the Junction City Police Dept. for many years. She was also a homemaker.
Brenda was a member of St. Xavier Catholic Church, B.P.O.E., Lodge #1037, and Earl C. Gormley, Post #45 of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She married Donald Weeks on October 13, 2005 in Milford, Kansas. Donald survives. Other survivors include: a son, Adam Cooke and his wife Bethany, Junction City; 2 step-sons, Marty Weeks, Shelton, Washington, and Frank Weeks, Olympia, Washington; 2 step-daughters, Kaitlyn Weeks, Milford, Kansas and Donna Manacuso, Herington, Kansas; 2 brothers, Eugene Rush, North Sioux City, South Dakota, and David Rush, Ankeny, Iowa; a sister, Madelyn Jauron, Cave Creek, Arizona; a grandson, Callen Cooke; a granddaughter, Cara Clementz; 9 step-grandchildren; and 4 step-great grandchildren.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Elliot Rush.
It was Brenda's wish to be cremated.
The family will greet friends at a Celebration of Life visitation, 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Penwell-Gabel Junction City Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in Brenda's name to Geary County Animal Shelter, 2424 N. Jackson, Junction City, Kansas 66441. The family requests you wear casual wear.
